Elders of Wall St. Favor More Regulation
Put aside for a moment the political pressure to regulate banking and trading. Ask the elder statesmen of these industries — giants like George Soros, Nicholas F. Brady, John S. Reed, William H. Donaldson and John C. Bogle — where they stand on regulation, and they will bowl you over.

How do you make money with Google Adwords, does it really work?

Tuesday, May 26th, 2009

I have seen tons of ads about making money at home through google adwords. They say it is as simple as following a cookbook. Is that true? Has anyone had experiences out there that they can explain how it is so "easy" to make money, with that system? Any other bright ideas, that will not cost me money upfront ?

I've heard as low as 20 cents (Cost Per Thousand Impressions) up to $5. I've heard $30 CPM for video ads. Can someone give me a general idea of what I can expect for different types of ads, banners, pop ups, video ads, etc.? Thanks

If one Adwords user is doing CPM bidding and another does cost per click bidding, which one wins?

Wednesday, May 13th, 2009

On my site I accept both site-targeted and keyword-targeted ads. The keyword-targeted ads are based on a cost per click. The site-targeted ads are based on a cost per impression.

Since this is Apples and Oranges, how does Google decide whether to display a site-targeted ad or a keyword-targeted ad?

People wanting to advertise specifically on my site are wondering (a) what CPM to bid and (b) why their ad isn't appearing. I am assuming their bids are too low, but I don't know.
